  Haven't seen this doctor in a while, but people like him are why we have a prescription drug epidemic in this country. I was 16 when I first started seeing him and before I even opened up my mouth and said a word, he had a prescription ready for me. I finally realized that this office was essentially a pill mill when I looked around in the waiting room where I had been for over two hours and saw that the room was filled with zombies. I'm very lucky to not be an addict today, prescribing an endless amount of narcotics to teenagers is not only dumb, it's down right wreckless. When three out of four heroin addicts get started on prescribed opioids, maybe you should rethink your methods of practice Dr. Ortolani.

  He ordered EMG, told me there was extensive nerve damage and reduced the medicine I have been on for 7 years from 100 mg to 30 mg, which obviously doesn't relieve pain. After my initial visit and evaluation I no longer see the doctor. His nurse practioner comes in, asks me to rate the pain using the 1 to 10 scale and writes the prescription. Following an incident of hypertension that caused brain swelling his NP told me he would want to speak with me at my next visit. At that time, his NP told me he would not discuss the matter with me unless I made an appt with him under the auspices of his neurology practice and then only if the neurologist from the hospital didn't continue to work with me. He (the neurologist from the hospital, known as "hospitalists") hasn't continued with me but since Ortolani just wants to bill me twice I have to conclude that medicine has become an industry only concerned with making money. DNA center is only one of the "doctors" who have failed and/or refused to address my health care issues. The care is care for money and the pretense of being hamstrung by the law is just that. --- a pretense. See Fla.Stat.893.04.
